Over 200 students from 21 different Secondary schools from as far a apart as Redcar to Richmond came to Carmel for our annual VI form induction days. On the first day the students experienced a day in the life of a 6th former as they attended various lessons, sampling the demands and rigour that 6th form studies require. Then on the second day they enjoyed fun team activities, such as a 3-legged egg and spoon race and an inflatable assault course. This gave them the opportunity to really bond with each other, forming friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime. They also had a guest speaker, a former Commonwealth record holder and world medallist, swimmer Chris Cook. He delivered a wonderfully inspirational speech to the students on hard work and determination.
