9 of our Year 13 students have recently been awarded the Pope John Paul II Award. This award encourages participants to take an active part both in the life of the Church and in the life of the Community. It makes students more aware of the teaching and role of the Catholic Church and enables them to engage at a deeper level with Christ. The award itself recognises students for the many volunteering roles that they do. By completing this award our students have learnt just how valuable the contribution of young people can be within the church and just how big of a difference they can make to the lives of others. The students doing this truly are an inspiration to us all in the many activities they are involved in, from assisting in a nursing home or a Brownies group, to coaching a sports team or singing in the choir or helping with refreshments at Mass.
