Joides Resolution Skype

Science students in Year 10, 11 and 12 had the opportunity to live chat with a research ship currently in Perth Australia, JOIDES Resolution. The JOIDES Resolution is a research vessel that drills into the ocean floor to collect and study core samples, used to better understand climate change, geology and Earth’s history. It is a part of the International Ocean Discovery Program and is funded by the National Science Foundation. Students were given a tour of the ship as well as getting to do question and answers with some of the world’s leading scientists in Ancient Microbiology.
