On Monday the 27th of February, Year 9 and 10 pupils visited the Emmaus Youth Village at Consett for their retreat. The key theme of the retreat was ‘Landslides’, that small changes can make a big difference. The pupils spent time reflecting on themselves, their beliefs and their actions towards their peers. The pupils also had the opportunity to get out and about in the fields surrounding the Youth Village, playing Capture the Flag, before enjoying a well-earned meal! On the final day of the retreat, the pupils went on a walk into Consett, before attending an Ash Wednesday service (and receiving their cross of ashes) at St. Marys Catholic Church. The pupils had a picture taken with the Father, before returning to the Emmaus Village. The retreat was both enjoyable and moving, and the pupils who attended were a credit to the school.
