CAFOD Young Leadership Programme

Eight of our Sixth Form students are involved with the CAFOD Young Leadership Programme. The scheme gives students the leadership skills to tackle social injustice and poverty.
Focused on how to make a difference in the local community students have embraced the Lenten Campaign “Give It Up”. This campaign invites people to give something up for Lent and
donate what they would spend on it, to CAFOD instead. Being involved in this campaign teaches the value of community and contributing to the common good. As Pope Francis once said: “My dear young people, a better world can be built as a result of your efforts, your desire to change and your generosity”. The Carmel Young Leadership team will be leading assemblies to the full school to promote “Give It Up” in order to raise money for families in Zimbabwe.
