During February half term, 34 of our pupils had the amazing opportunity to fly across the Atlantic for an intense week discovering the iconic cities of Washington DC and New York. Beginning in Washington, visits included the US Capitol, the amazing Lincoln memorial (along with many other memorials), a walk across the National Mall Park to the Washington Monument, the Smithsonian museums, the National Archives and the White House. Adventures in New York included a haze of yellow taxis, bagels and shopping. Students enjoyed the incredible views from the Empire State Building and the night view from the Top of the Rock. The evenings spent in Time Square, the amazing Broadway performance will be treasured by all involved. The emotional trip to the 9/11 memorial was a powerful experience showing enormous hope after terrible loss. An amazing time was had by all and great memories have been made that will last a lifetime!
